Following on from their churning recent single 'Compelled' Montreal's Land of Talk have served us another enticing treat from their forthcoming new album Indistinct Conversations. Set over a steady drum beat, warmly driven guitar parts twang with conviction as principle songwriter Elizabeth Powell's heart-felt lyrics confess "and I know, not enough, I was caught up in the wrong stuff". Finding solace in line "but I have to laugh", 'Diaphanous' overcomes its fragile namesake to portray an empowering message of self-development and not taking yourself too seriously. Indistinct Conversations will arrive via Saddle Creek on the 31st of July. -Holly Mullineaux
